Midiacode

PRIVACY POLICY

Our company is committed to acting ethically in all its activities and privacy and data protection are treated with the highest priority. We follow the best practices for protecting your data in full alignment with the LGPD (General Data Protection Law – Brazil) and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation – Europe).

What we collect and why we collect it. We collect and use the following information to provide, improve and protect our Services:

Account
We collect and associate information such as your name, email address, phone number, payment information, and physical address with your account. Some of our services allow you to access your accounts and information held with other service providers.

Services
When you use our Services, we store, process, and transmit your files (including images, structured data, and emails) and information related to them. If you give us access to your contacts, we will store them on our servers for you to use. This way, it will be easier to perform actions such as sharing content, sending emails, and inviting others to use our Services. We do not use your originally provided contact information for marketing, either from us or our partners. This means that by installing our app, you will not receive advertisements in your mailing.
When installing the app, in the first or second interaction, the system will ask if you accept to receive news from partners. If you accept, you will be authorizing Midiacode to share your email with the content publishers you access, in case they request this information. Sending these emails to publishers does not happen automatically.

Uses
We collect information from and about the devices with which you access the Services, including your IP address, the type of browser and device you use, the web page you visited before accessing our websites, and identifiers associated with your devices. Depending on how you configure them, your devices may also transmit information about your location to the Services.

Cookies and other technologies
We use technologies such as cookies and pixel tags to provide, improve, protect and promote our Services. Cookies, for example, help us to remember your username for your next visit and to understand how you interact with our Services, in order to improve them based on this information. You can configure your browser not to accept cookies, but this may impose certain limits on your use of the Services.

Geographic location
Where permitted, we collect your geographic position to recommend content posted near your location, and we also record the location when new content is captured.

With whom we share
We may share information as described below, but we will not sell it to advertisers or third parties.
– Outsourced companies that work for Midiacode. Midiacode uses some trusted third-party companies to help us provide, improve, protect and promote our Services. They will only have access to your information to perform tasks on our behalf and in accordance with our Privacy Policies.
– Content publishing companies. These are the companies that prepared and provided the content for you. If you accept the opt-in in the first or second interaction with the app, your email can be provided to the publishing company, if requested. It doesn’t happen automatically.

Other Users
Our Services display information such as your name and email address to other users in places such as your user profile and in share notifications. Some features allow you to make additional information available to other users, including your complete profile as long as you allow it through the option “Receive news from partners”.
If you share your virtual business card with others, you are authorizing us to share your data with the people you share it with. Through the NETWORK functionality, if you access a QR Code of this type and allow the visualization of your virtual business card through the SER VISTO button, we will also share your data with the other participants of that NETWORK.

Others Apps
You may also offer access to your information and your account to third parties – for example via Mediacode APIs. Remember that the way they use your information will be guided by the terms of use and privacy policies adopted by third parties.

Mediacode Administrators for Business
If you are a corporate Midiacode user, your account administrator can access and control your corporate Midiacode account. If you have any doubts in this regard, we recommend that you consult your employer’s internal policies. If you are not a user of Corporate Mediacode, but interact with users of the service (such as when entering a shared Mediacode, or when accessing files shared by the user), members of the publishing organization will only be able to see the name, e- email and IP address associated with your account at the time of interaction and if you require this data.

Legal Purposes
We may disclose your information to third parties if we determine that disclosure is reasonably necessary to (a) comply with the law, (b) protect any person from death or serious bodily harm; (c) prevent fraud or abuse of Mediacode or our users, or (d) protect the proprietary rights of Mediacode. The protection of your data is paramount to us and is a responsibility we gladly accept. We believe that our users’ data should receive the same legal protections, whether stored on our services or on your personal computer’s hard drive. We will adhere to the following government data request principles when receiving, examining, and responding to government requests for data from our users:

Be transparent,
Decline very broad requests,
Protect all users and
Offer reliable services.

How we Collect
Safety. We have a team dedicated to keeping your information safe and testing vulnerabilities. We also continue to work on features to keep your information secure, in addition to existing ones.
Retention. The information you store on our Services will be retained for as long as we need it to provide you with our Services. If you delete your account, the related information will also be deleted. However, please note the following: (1) there may be some latency between the deletion of information from our servers and the backup; and (2) we may retain such information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our contracts.

Where we collect
All over the world. In order to provide our Services to you, we may store, process, and transmit information in various locations around the world. Information may also be stored locally on the devices you use to access our Services.

Changes
In the event of a reorganization, merger, acquisition, or sale of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of the agreement. You will be notified (we will send a message to the email associated with your account, for example) of any such changes and we will explain what options are available.

This Privacy Policy may be revised from time to time, and the most up-to-date version will be posted on our website. You will be notified if a review significantly reduces your rights.
